Golf Courses will open this Saturday, April 30th

After a long Buffalo winter and rainy April, Buffalo’s Olmsted Parks are anxiously awaiting the beginning of the 2011 Golf Season.  This Saturday, April 30th at 7:00am, all three Olmsted Golf Courses (Cazenovia, Delaware, and South Park) will officially open to the public. Both Cazenovia & South Park courses are 9-hole courses, while Delaware is an 18-hole course.  Prices range depending on city residency, senior & youth status, and weekday versus weekend play.  Golf Passes are currently available for purchase at the Olmsted golf houses as well as online at the conservancy website. To obtain a season pass golfers must bring proper identification (valid driver’s license), a head-shot photograph no larger than 1” x 1”, and payment in the form of cash, check or credit card (MasterCard or Visa only).  For a detailed pricing structure please visit www.bfloparks.org.

All Star Band 4.7.11


This past Thursday the “All Star Band” kicked off 2 encore performances at the Music at the Marcy Concert Series in Delaware Park. “All Star Band” will perform one last time this Thursday April 14th at the Marcy Casino. Come out and enjoy your last chance for the final performance of the series!

The “All Star Band” features Wade Hawkins (Keys), Kenny Hawkins (guitar), Flute Johnson (Drums), Rodney Appleby (Bass guitar) and John Miller (Technician).

The members of the "All Star Band" have played with many reputable artists that include but aren't limited to Rick James, Teddy Riley, Mary Jane Girls, Process & the Doo Rags, N'Dambi, Shirley Ceaser, LeVert, Blue Magic, Mickey Howard, Stephanie Mills, Shanice Wilson, Lenny Williams, and Shawnee Mac. With a broad range of influences including Jeff Labro, Herbie Hancock, Eddie Van Halen, Steve Vie, Marcus Miller, Stanley Clark, Billy Cob Ham, Michael Jackson, Charlie Wilson, Earth Wind and Fire, Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan, Rick James, the "All Star Band" certainly lives up to their name and is sure to make these encore performances at the Marcy Casino unforgettable!

Music at the Marcy is an all-ages concert series of musical acts performing in the historic Marcy Casino (199 Lincoln Parkway) in Delaware Park. Admission is FREE for members of the Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy, $5 for general public, and $3 for college students with valid college ID. Proceeds from the series go to benefit the Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy.
