The Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy announces the selection of a lead artist for the installation of a mural project at McKinley High School as part of the Jesse Kregal Pathway Improvement Project funded through the New York Power Authority and Niagara River Greenway Commission. The committee has selected Augustina Droze of Los Angeles, California, based on her extensive national experience in mural painting, presentation, and proposal.

The panel included, Thomas Herrera-Mishler – CEO and President of the Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy, Philip Ogle – Chair of the Buffalo State University Fine Arts Dep., Michelle Agosto – Supervisor of Curriculum in Art for Buffalo Public Schools, Louis Grachos – Director of the Albright Knox Art Gallery, James Pappas – Associate Professor of African American Studies in the UB College of Arts and Sciences, and member of the Buffalo Arts Commission, and Ted Pietrzak – Former Executive Director of the Burchfield Penny Art Center, and member of the Buffalo Arts Commission.
